DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel and DIT Majestic Beach Resort are not only two of the largest and most popular hotels on the Black Sea coast, they are also recognised as regional innovators who lead by example.
As a market that has traditionally been dominated by Tour Operators, the impact of Covid and collapse of Thomas Cook were extreme. Seeking alternative channels for distribution, DIT Hotels sought to revolutionise and future proof their strategy; not only to facilitate Direct Bookings and payments, but also to implement dynamic pricing and flexible accommodation policies with a variety of rate fences.
Existing software on the market could not provide them with the solutions they needed and although Quendoo was at an early stage, they welcomed the opportunity to collaborate.
Quendoo won its first large client. It represented a pivotal moment and we steered our product development accordingly, in no small part due to the faith and innovative thinking demonstrated by the ownership and management of DIT Hotels.
320,000 EUR saved from distribution costs YTD
Since that point, DIT Hotels has seen an impressive 263% growth in turnover from Direct Bookings through Quendoo's Booking Engine, which has saved them enormous distribution costs by comparison to traditional tour operators and online travel agencies.
137% increase in Direct Bookings for Majestic Beach Resort
Our "direct telephone sales" tool enabled DIT Hotels to achieve a 2024 revenue of nearly 500,000 Euros through this channel alone, which was a 450% increase compared to the previous year. This channel, along with the Booking Engine, are the most important for DIT, and the expectations for 2025 are that their Direct Bookings revenue will reach almost 1 million Euros.
We also tested together one of the most interesting and rapidly developing products, our Marketplace "Quendoo B2B", which brings together hotels with travel agents and tour operators.
The Balkans lacked integration between common hotel PMSs and the software of local and global tour operators and travel agents. On one hand, Quendoo B2B enabled hotels to send dynamic prices and availability in real time, and on the other hand, tour operators and travel agents to benefit from the same advantage as online travel agencies (such as booking.com), which they have used for years to gain market share.
After launching our solution in a test period of 3 months, with DIT Hotels and a selection of others, Quendoo generated a turnover of 1.6 million Euros through the platform. Our expectations for 2025 are that this will grow 10x.
Mihail Popov, CEO of DIT Hotels:
‘We have been in the hospitality business for more than 20 years and I am glad that we became one of Quendoo's first customers. Even when we started in 2022, I was impressed with their innovative approach to solving our destination's years-old technical software issues. Despite the presence of global brands with a similar service, we were unable to find a partner that could meet all our requirements. Quendoo jumped right in with us to solve various challenges and especially how to bring more direct bookings and very quickly the good results started coming. In 2024 alone, using Quendoo's software solutions saved us 320,000 euros in commissions and other distribution costs. Now our goal for 2025 is to double that amount.’
